So what do PR agencies charge in Australia?

by | 6th January, 2014 | 1 comment

Did you spend 2013 working your proverbial arse off and vow this year to work harder not smarter?  Great, then you’ll probably need a PR agency like ours to get you noticed in the media and get some well-deserved recognition for all the hard work in 2014.  But how much do we charge and how much to other agencies cost?

Rhetoric work with entrepreneurs and small businesses going places every day across Australia. Both Bridget and I are talking to the media every day. The Sydney Morning Herald, StartUp Smart, Sky News are just some of the media we are talking to about our clients. Sky News call me at least twice a month as they know we have high calibre business owners who consistently deliver. I feel bad when I don’t have clients on our books as I just can’t offer them the exciting opportunities coming to us all the time.

We are the only agency to offer fixed-price project costs at comparatively low costs compared to our competitors. We know small businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs don’t want to be paying $10,000 (the average monthly retainer agencies now charge according to the PR Institute of Australia).  We don’t charge hourly rates, that could escalate and we always get results, from front pages to TV interviews and we are 100 per cent committed and passionate about getting our clients the recognition they deserve and get people coming to them, rather than having to chase business all of the time.

We charge just $1,999 for a full media campaign, which includes the creative, research, deciding on the angles, generating a highly targeted mailing list, media release, targeted phone calls to the media you want to feature in, media briefings and interview and photo-shoot set-ups.  We go all out to get you into the media.

In three months last year we ran thirteen campaigns and got an average of over four media hits per campaign across TV, radio, print and online.  Our best campaign was syndicated across Australian Financial Review, BRW, Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, StartUp Smart, Smart Company website, Brisbane Times, Glam Adelaide, InBusiness,  SiloBreaker, WA Today, Australian Financial Review and Canberra times.

Anyways, if you want to take your biz to next level, we’re here and happy to chat. Oh, and I go this lovely testimonial from Kate Ellis, SA Wedding Photographer of the Year:

“Working with Jenny was my first flutter into the world of PR marketing.  Jenny was fabulous to work with and the result…s went far beyond what I was expecting. A nice piece in a large local newspaper and a radio interview, and a host of other opportunities have been coming my way ever since. It was a great opportunity to work with someone who is experienced, talented and friendly. I won’t hesitate to use her again in the future, and to recommend Rhetoric Communications to many of my business-owner friends. Thanks Jenny!”
