Think you’re not ready to get noticed by the media….here are 5 reasons why you’re wrong

I hear people say all the time “I couldn’t possibly go the media with my story/newly launched product/awesome kick-arse new e-course because…

…I’m not accomplished enough

…I just need one more degree under my belt

…I only have 1 e-book on my website and I’m not even sure if its any good

…there are many more people who are more experienced than me

…I’M JUST NOT READY!!!”

These are just some of the many excuses I hear entrepreneurs tell themselves every day as to why they’re not ready to raise awareness about themselves and their brand.

I’ve got a secret for you.

No one is ever ready ready!!

These are your own fears stopping you from getting what you want and letting the world know what awesome products and services you have.

I say start before you’re ready. Leap before you have second thoughts. Put yourself out there before your inner critic persuades you to stay in your comfy fluffy comfort zone with hot choccie and marshmallows and thick woolly socks!

I work with clients, just like you, every day getting them media-ready. They all have their individual story to tell and I will ALWAYS find something which will be of interest to the media. Here are five reasons you ARE ready:

  1. You are awesome
  2. You are you. No one else is you. (Is that a Snoopy quote!?) You have your own set of beliefs, life experiences, qualifications and knowledge to give to the world
  3. You have some great insights into what is going on within your sector/with the people you work with
  4. You have an interesting and different opinion that the world needs to hear
  5. The world is waiting to hear what YOU have to say

So if you’re looking to get more sales, increase your email opt-ins or want to start changing the world, PR should be one of your tools to GET NOTICED. As I mentioned to a biz friend the other day here are my top reasons why you should be actively trying to get media attention for your brand:

  • Drives new traffic to your website
  • Increases your national brand awareness
  • Gives confidence to those you meet and those who look at your website that you are a well-recognised business name
  • Gives you a platform to show to peers you are an up and coming company
  • Increases market confidence in your products or services
  • Opens doors to new potential strategic partnerships or partner alliances
  • Gives you content which you can share through your newsletters and social media channels
  • Builds excitement in your brand and where your company is heading
  • Builds your reputations as a niche expert in your chosen field

So tell me, what are you waiting for?
